BOSTON, Jan. 30, 2008 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) -- Shares of ClearOne (NASDAQ:CLRO) Communications Inc. extended gains for a third consecutive session Wednesday after the Salt Lake City developer of audio conferencing systems reported a rise in second-quarter net income to $1.8 million, or 16 cents a share, from $1.1 million, or 9 cents a share, a year earlier.
The stock climbed 8.1% to $5.59 on volume of 14,300 shares. The issue's 30-day average volume is 11,300.
Revenue for the three months ended Dec. 31 rose 7% to $10.8 million from $10.1 million a year earlier.
'The improved performance primarily reflected increased sales of our professional audio conferencing products, which carry our highest margins,' ClearOne said.
