PHOENIX & FORT LEWIS, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LifeSize Communications, the global leader in high definition video communications, and RADVISION® Ltd. (Nasdaq:RVSN), a leading provider of video network infrastructure and developer tools for unified visual communications over IP, 3G, and emerging next-generation IMS networks, will connect NFL stars in Phoenix and U.S. Army soldiers stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington during Super Bowl XLII using high definition video communication systems. The real-time video greetings are part of NFL Charities Super Bowl XLII Community Impact Program.

"Even football stars have heroes, and the players have tremendous respect for our nation's men and women in uniform, said Coach Charles Hatcher, head of Champions 4 Champions, who organized the event through NFL Charities. "This is the first time we'll be using a high definition link to connect the players with some of their favorite fans, many of whom will soon be deploying overseas into combat zones. It's a chance for the players to give back to the people who preserve our freedom."

LifeSize CEO Craig Malloy, a Navy veteran, appreciates the NFL's support for American troops. "LifeSize is thrilled to be a part of the Super Bowl pregame activities, and it's exciting to see our products bring football legends and U.S. soldiers together."

"RADVISION is honored to have its technology provide a great experience by making soldiers feel as if they are in the same room with players," said Boaz Raviv, RADVISION CEO. "Our video communications products deliver on the promise of bringing together geographically dispersed parties and making them feel as if they are literally within arm's reach."

"We have a full roster of NFL legends participating in our Super Bowl NFL Charities events, and every athlete I've spoken with is looking forward for the chance to pay their respects to the troops," said Nick Nicolosi, tournament director for the third annual Super Bowl NFL Charities Celebrity Bowling Classic and the 23rd annual Super Bowl NFL Charities Celebrity Golf Classic.

High definition video delivers a rich, interactive experience, with clear images, fluid motion and rich audio that makes you feel as if you are having a face-to-face conversation without having to travel. LifeSize and RADVISION equipment has also connected military families at home in the United States with their loved ones serving overseas during the holidays.

The video calls will be made from various locations in Phoenix during Super Bowl pregame events to connect soldiers at Fort Lewis' on-post recreation centers. Live greetings from NFL legends and Hall of Fame players will be exchanged on location Thursday at the Super Bowl NFL Charities Celebrity Bowling Classic and on game day from Phoenix.

NFL legends and Super Bowl players will also videotape greetings that will be seen worldwide on the Armed Forces Network and the Pentagon Channel and offered to Fox Sports for use in the Super Bowl broadcast.
