London, UK: Tuesday 22nd January, 2008 - Hemisphere Expo Services, producers of the
Telepresence World Conference Series (www.telepresenceworld.com), announced today the
featured speakers and panellists who will address attendees of Telepresence World 2008
London, which will take place on 18th - 19th March at ExCel London, the internationally
acclaimed exhibition and conference centre located in the UK's capital city.
The conference, which will showcase the latest state-of-the-art systems designed to enable and
enhance collaboration and reduce the need for in-person meetings, will focus on real-world
applications of telepresence and will feature case studies, roundtables, and business analyses
led by industry leaders. Speakers will explore a wide variety of topics ranging from
management of the global enterprise via telepresence to ways that the technology can reduce
the corporate carbon footprint and contribute to the development of sustainable business
models.
Marc Trachtenberg, who is a Co-Founder of Teliris as well as its CEO, will lead off the
Conference on March 18 with a powerful and highly interactive look at the multi-faceted ways
that telepresence will continue to change business practises around the world.
According to Mr. Trachtenberg, "It is hard to believe that it was slightly less than a decade ago
that Teliris introduced the first telepresence system. In that short time, companies of all sizes, all
over the world have realized the tremendous value of this unique technology and its
implications for managing rising costs, fostering deeper, more effective communication and
decision making and even addressing corporate environmental responsibility. And this is just
the beginning -- telepresence will eventually become an irreplaceable asset within each and
every organization that needs to meet in a natural, immersive way across distance."
According to Ken Crangle, vice president, Diamond Sponsor HP Halo Telepresence Solutions,
"As global enterprise becomes more distributed and complex, more effective ways to
collaborate and communicate are key to increasing business productivity, furthering
collaboration and reducing corporate travel expenses. HP Halo Telepresence Solutions are
already used by some of the world's leading companies such as ABN Amro, AMD, BHP Billiton,
DreamWorks Animation and PepsiCo to foster more personal connections while reducing the
burden of travel and to make business decisions faster and with greater control. We are looking
forward to showcasing the benefits of this powerful technology at Telepresence World 2008."
Featured Presenters at the conference will include:
Martyn Lewis, CBE, Chairman & Co-Founder - Teliris
Marc Trachtenberg, CEO & Co-Founder - Teliris
Charles Stucki, VP & General Manager - Cisco Telepresence Systems Business Unit
Jonathan Shopley, Executive Director - The CarbonNeutral Company
Aaron McCormack, CEO - BT Conferencing

Jonathan Shopley, Executive Director of The CarbonNeutral Company, said: "Technological
solutions are vital for a low carbon future. Our experience shows us that business travel
accounts for around 20% - 30% of our service-based clients' overall emissions. Where
possible, using virtual options like telepresence is a real opportunity for businesses to cut
emissions at the source whilst increasing cost and staff efficiency."
Martyn Lewis, CBE, Chairman of Teliris and lauded TV presenter and news anchor, also
presenting at the Conference, stated: "This is such an exciting time for the telepresence industry
as more and more companies around the world begin to understand how drastically its
deployment can redefine business as they know it."
